Dr Linny Phuong is a Paediatric Infectious Diseases Physician who provides comprehensive care for children with infections.
Linny is an Australian trained paediatrician and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). She has clinical experience at many local tertiary hospitals including the Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Children’s, Royal Women’s Hospital and Austin Health.
Linny is an active researcher in paediatric infections and vaccine safety. She is currently completing a PhD (University of Melbourne, Department of Paediatrics) studying risk factors in pneumococcal infections in children. Her publications listed are here.
Linny actively contributes to national and international paediatric infectious diseases committees. She has been involved in reviewing and writing tertiary hospital guidelines and is also a regular invited reviewer for paediatrics and infection related medical journals. You will also occasionally find her bringing attention to community and health related topics on ABC News Breakfast TV.
Linny is an empathic and active listener, fantastic patient advocate working well with children and their families, as well as with multidisciplinary teams, for optimal patient outcomes.
Availability for inpatient and outpatient consults
Linny holds current consultant appointments at Cabrini Health, Epworth Health, the Royal Children’s Hospital- Melbourne, University of Melbourne and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
